Location
The Corus Chess Tournament 2010 will be held from 15 - 31 January in Wijk aan Zee. The tournament venue is the De Moriaan Community Centre (Dorpsduinen 4, 1949 EG Wijk aan Zee) and the nearby bar de Zon. Commentators on the games in Grandmaster groups A, B and C will be based in the Corus Chess Pavilion, on the Village Green in Wijk aan Zee (one minute walking from De Moriaan, you will pass the Pavilion on your left side when driving into Wijk aan Zee).

Invitation tournaments
The Corus Chess Tournament has three main tournaments. They are played according to the 'round robin' system, whereby each competitor plays in turn against every other during the tournament. All three Grandmaster groups have 14 players and start on January 16th. All rounds begin at 13.30 hours, except for the last round on January 31st, which begins at 12.30 hours. There are rest days: on January 20th, 25th, and 28th.
The time control is: 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the remaining moves with 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move.
Amateur events
There are four amateur events during the Corus Chess Tournament, that are open for all players: Weekend-three-round events (15-17 January), Weekday-three-round-events (18-20 January), Nine-round events (22 - 31 January) and the Rapid Tournament (23-24 January). Note: registration will be possible starting November 2nd on this website or by returning the card distributed with the flyers in the last week of October.
Special groups
More than 10 special groups are playing their own CCT, especially in the first and second weekend of the tournament. A.o. journalists, members of the Dutch parliament and local politicians are invited by the organisation for these special groups.
